Last week the Rotary Club organised a mock interview event for our Year 10 students. With the support of 34 professionals from a range of businesses including the NHS, Irwin Mitchell, Chichester Festival Theatre, Lewis Brownlee, Chichester District Council, Pink Sauce Leasing, Chichester Recruitment, BAE Systems, Wiley, West Dean College, Avanti Training, Feel Good Films, Henry Adams, Goodwood, Trader Mate and Konsileo, the students in Year 10 were given coaching, guidance and a one to one interview with feedback.
It was wonderful to see the students grow in confidence throughout the session, from attending a briefing with members of the Rotary Club, which aimed to relax and prepare them, through to the formal interview, where they were asked a range of questions about themselves and offered tips and techniques for future experiences. The aim of the event was for students to leave feeling positive about the experience and confident with the interview process.
Mrs Faulkner, Head of Key Stage 4 said ‘the students spoke so positively about the experience and we were delighted with how well it went. We are extremely grateful to the Rotary and interviewers for giving up their time to enable the students to have this opportunity’.
