Our Year 11 students had a fantastic time at their recent prom and we have received some lovely feedback from parents and carers.
This formal occasion celebrated the end of Year 11’s compulsory schooling and marked the parting of their ways as they go on their various post 16 pathways. In keeping with the tradition of this event, there was a formal entrance and mocktails on arrival. The prom was held in a large marquee where the students enjoyed pizzas, a hog roast and BBQ, before dancing the night away. To make the evening special there was a toast from the Head, and the evening culminated in a fantastic firework display.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, carers and friends for their generous donations via gofundme (https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-year-11s-celebrate-their-bishop-luffa-journey). The fund is still ongoing and any donations would be gratefully received. All the children experience the Prom when they reach Year 11 and will therefore benefit from this fund. It enables us to keep the ticket prices low to ensure the Prom is an event accessible to all children at Bishop Luffa.
A massive thank you has to go out to the Bishop Luffa Parents’ & Friends’ Association who put together this event for our students every year and give up so much of their own time. If you would like to get involved with the prom set up, and be given the opportunity to meet other PFA members, please get in touch with Nicky Christopher (christophern@bishopluffa.org.uk)
