On Wednesday 29th March we hosted a new dance event to showcase performances and choreographies from students in Years 7 to 13. We had originally planned to launch this new event in our calendar in March 2020 but sadly the pandemic put a stop to our plans!
Nothing was stopping us in 2022 and both staff and students have been working hard since September to make our dream a reality. The work seen in the showcase was produced both in lessons and in extra-curricular clubs and activities. All students worked tirelessly in rehearsals in order to perform in A Celebration of Dance 2022
We are so proud of all the performers who took to the stage: KS3 dance clubs, RnB Dance, the KS4/5 dance enrichment group, BTEC and ‘A’ Level dance students. I also want to thank Mr Green and members of the Technical Youth Theatre who ably supported us with lighting and sound.
The show was particularly important for our Sixth Form students in Year 13, as well as our Year 11 BTEC Dance group, as they shared their exam pieces with the audience.
