To celebrate World Book Day, we held our second annual Inter-house Bookmaster competition – a week long festival of book related tasks and challenges, some to be completed by individual students and some for tutor groups together. Heads of House led the way by choosing a book for the Bookmaster (Mr Hindman) that would bring him the most joy. Mr Goldsmith won this one for Andrewes, but with the results of several tasks still to be announced, it is still all to play for! Judging is underway for the best book-themed pancake, book tower, blackout poetry and decorated classroom door. We also held a sale of withdrawn library books, raising money for our Ukraine fundraiser and finding almost 300 used books a new home. This year was the 25th anniversary of World Book Day and all students received a £1 book token which can be exchanged for one of the £1 World Book Day books or used as part payment for any book in most places books are sold.
