The Ukraine Cycling Challenge which ran throughout March attracted many Bishop Luffa students, staff and parents, who took part in order to support Ukrainian children and families at this difficult time.
Collectively Bishop Luffa cycled 7,333 miles and brought the thoughts, prayers and love closer to the hearts of Ukrainian people. Our tracking map shows that we managed to reach many Ukrainian cities and towns, such as Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Odesa, Mariupol, Sumy, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and many more. During our journey we have also learnt some Ukrainian language. We raised £2693, for which we are incredibly grateful to all our supporters.
Although we managed to cover an impressive distance, this cycling challenge is not complete. As the Ukrainian nation is facing extreme wartime atrocities, it does not seem right to stop the challenge; we should continue showing our support to this country. I am now setting an individual Ukraine cycling challenge – ‘cycle 1500 miles and reach Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine’. I know it is not easy, but definitely possible, especially when you are doing this not for yourself, but to support Ukrainian people.
